...waste.

I hate waste. I hate wasted potential. I hate wasted opportunities. I hate wasted resources. I hate wasted energy.

"Hate is a strong word." That's what I heard growing up whenever I used that Hate-bomb I'd picked up outside my parents' house. I do not use that word to describe my feelings for any individual. I can not imagine using that word to describe my feelings for any individual, and I hope I never do.

But I really hate waste. When I witness it, I have a really hard time letting it go. I have a hard time moving on and saying to myself "there's nothing you can do about it now."

Whether someone leaves lovingly homemade food on the counter to rot, or spends my tax dollars on an extremely ugly NFL stadium, or doesn't take a moment to be patient with a child, or ignores the chance to teach a child about respect or common decency, or removes incentives for people to work, or rewards destructive behavior, I have a really hard time ignoring it.

I especially hate seeing those whom I admire and/or love (including myself) pour their hearts and souls into something -- anything -- that they want to see grow and flourish, only to have that work of heart poisoned or destroyed by some evil force. The evil forces, in my mind, are those people and (even worse) those groups of people who are not inspired and motivated by the hard work of others. The evil forces are the lazy and/or inept people who demand (however injustly) to reap the benefits of others' effort and/or creativity. The evil forces are the little parts of us which cause us to be lazy, or feel indifferent, or make the wrong choices. Maybe the reason I can't get over waste is the fact that I sometimes feel I am succumbing too much to the evil forces inside me.

Maybe the fact that I hate waste is the reason I feel that I exist to save America from Communism, Socialism or any Communist-Socialist Third Way.

To quote Rose Wilder Lane: "A planned economy does not waste any material thing. It wastes time, and human energy, and human life."

I'm a little bit country, I'm a little bit R&B, I'm a little bit of everywhere I've lived, I'm a lot of Don't Mess With Me, Don't know if you'll understand, But I know it's clear to me, I'm a little bit hip-hop, But it's ALL about Liberty. (Thank you, Tracey Ullman and Donny & Marie).
